SPECIAL INVITATION BY SHADE-IN

We bring you greetings, dear Educator.

We must confess that you are doing a very great work educating the younger generation.

We all know that the children under our care belong to a different generation from ours, that is technology-driven.

Hence, we need to be technology savvy to fulfil our ministry to them because we believe that teaching is not just one of the most honourable professions, but it is a ministry as well.

You may also know that there are global guidelines for achieving sustainable development which includes education guidelines. If anybody should know about this, it should be the educator/teacher.

You would recall that SHADE-IN is committed to improving teachers' quality for maximum impact, hence we had a conference for teachers in March last year, 2019 to achieve this aim.

Hence, Saving Hand Development Initiative (with the light blue logo on the flyer) is partnering with Global Schools Program, an initiative of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (to support education for a better world), to train school administrators and educators on "Technology Innovations for Quality Education".

It promises to be very enlightening.

We are by this message, inviting you, as a school administrator/educator in Edo State to attend the programme or send a delegate to represent your school.

We require 'one administrator' per school, please.

If you are not an administrator, please kindly pass on this message to your schools administrator or other educators you may know.

The categories of schools invited include: Primary, JSS and SSS school administrators. Even nursery school administrators can attend. Both Public and Private schools administrators can attend.

Others expected include educators who may not be school teachers directly.

Please kindly confirm if your school will be attending by sending the details of who will be representing your school via WhatsApp to *08067279739* or via SMS to *09023124668*

Details to send include:
*Name*
*School*
*Position*
*Phone number*
*Sex*
*Email* (if available)

Thank you as we expect your school to be fully represented at the training. Note that it is on a Saturday.

Kindly see details of the programme on the flyer attached here.

Thank you so much.

Best regards,

Bliss Ojeruse,
Saving Hand Development Initiative (SHADE-IN)

To invest in people, prioritize education - International Day of Education

To invest in people, prioritize education. This is the theme for the 2023 international day of education.  This statement is in all sense factual and this is why Saving Hand Development Initiative (SHADE-IN) prioritises education. One of our children whom we reached out to in a community settlement in 2010 and have supported through his university education just graduated as a Civil Engineer in December, 2022. Recently, one of us was reached by one of our children who has not been able to further his education because of lack of funds. There are so many children who are in this situation in Nigeria. In seven years from this year, the sustainable development goals (SDGs) are meant to be achieved. But how far have we gone in achieving it? Let's start with Goal 1, "No Poverty." Rather than this, it appears that there is an increased poverty rate. In Nigeria for instance, you do not need to read the statistics to know that hunger is in the land as a result of extreme poverty.

About Changed Teachers Conference (CTC)

Changed Teachers Conference (CTC) is a Conference of teachers geared towards raising Role Models, Mentors and Change Drivers among Teachers who will in turn effect change in their schools, community, and the education system as a whole beginning from themselves. It is a one of SHADE-IN's programmes aimed at effecting lasting transformation in schools especially Public schools in Nigeria.  It is born out of the need to implement change in the school system using the Community Health Evangelism (CHE) model, which involves the community (in this case, the school), driving her own change. The maiden edition of the Conference seeks to validate the school's result of the survey conducted by SHADE-IN in some public secondary schools in Benin City. A visit to many public secondary schools in this city will reveal the need for this programme.  The details of the programme are as follows: Theme: Change Drivers for Education Transformation Date:  29th March, 201
