IT’S OFFICIAL: SHADE-IN Partners with IA-Foundation and Isecurdata Limited to Empower Girls in Cybersecurity

Saving Hand Development Initiative (SHADE-IN) is pleased to officially announce a new partnership with IA-Foundation and Isecurdata Limited to empower young girls with cybersecurity and digital skills.

This partnership marks another significant milestone in our commitment to equipping the younger generation with relevant, future-ready skills, while upholding strong safeguarding and child protection standards.

About the Programme

The Cybersecurity and Digital Skills Programme for Girls will commence on 24th January 2026 and will run for eight (8) weeks, delivered virtually.

Through this programme, two female mentees from the SHADE-IN Teens Hub have been selected to participate in the first cohort.

The programme is designed to introduce adolescent girls to cybersecurity awareness and essential digital skills, helping them build confidence, competence, and interest in technology-driven careers.

How the Partnership Emerged

This partnership evolved following the International Day of the Girl Child event held in October 2025, where Isecurdata Limited delivered a keynote address focused on empowering adolescent girls through cybersecurity awareness and digital inclusion.

The engagement sparked further conversations and a call to action, leading IA-Foundation, the programme implementation partner, to extend participation to selected partner organisations, including SHADE-IN.

Subsequent discussions through chat, email exchanges, and a virtual meeting, as well as a formal proposal and engagement with our management team, resulted in the confirmation of this partnership.

Selection Process and Safeguarding Measures

Following the agreement, the opportunity was shared with parents and mentees of SHADE-IN Teens Hub.  The programme was open strictly to girls aged 11–18 years and subject to clearly defined criteria.

Two parents applied on behalf of their eligible daughters, and the two mentees were successfully selected into the first cohort of the programme.

In line with our safeguarding and child protection policy, SHADE-IN contributed inputs to strengthen the application process — including recommendations around the structure and verification of parental consent.

Beyond the Training: Stepping Down Impact

The selected mentees are expected not only to complete the programme successfully but also to step down the knowledge and skills gained by mentoring and impacting other mentees within the SHADE-IN Teens Hub and the wider community.

This approach ensures sustainability, peer learning, and broader community impact beyond the immediate beneficiaries.

A Testament to Impact

Being identified and approached for this partnership is a strong testament to the impact and credibility of SHADE-IN’s work with children and young people. It reflects the trust our partners place in our systems, values, and long-term vision.

We remain committed to providing our mentees with all the necessary support to ensure they have a meaningful and rewarding learning experience throughout the programme.

Appreciation and Looking Ahead

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to IA-Foundation and Isecurdata Limited, as well as to our mentors, volunteers, and team members whose dedication continues to open doors for the young people we serve.

As we celebrate this achievement, we look forward to more strategic and impactful partnerships as we continue to empower the next generation with the right values, knowledge, and skills for the future.

Congratulations to SHADE-IN and our partners!

My Sexuality and I: My Unashamed Love 💕

My Story and Sexuality Sexuality can be a tricky subject to navigate, especially when you’re young and still figuring out who you are. But one thing I’ve learned through my own journey is that your sexuality is yours to define, and there’s no shame in it—no matter what it looks like or the world's views. This is my story and I hope it inspires you. Growing up, I had a close friend named Franca. We were very close and everyone knew us.  Then, I was more often attracted to girls at different times and we could be so close. Today, a lot of young people get attracted to persons of different sexual orientation - a girl can get attracted to a girl, a boy to a boy, a girl to a boy and vice versa. There is nothing wrong with this on a platonic basis. Child This has been falsely interpreted as them having a different sexual orientation from whom their Maker made them, which informs their gender identity - gay, lesbian and every other identity. This has led to other forms of sexual orientati...
