SHADE-IN goes on an outing with the youths of Aba-Ebira Community

Saving Hand Development Initiative (SHADE-IN) oganised a picnic for the youths of Aba-Ebira, her pilot community in Ekiti State, on Friday, 14th April, 2017. This event was held at a garden in front of The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Co-operative, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State. Nine youths from Aba-Ebira Community were present, SHADE-IN volunteers and NCCF representatives. The programme was carried out in collaboration with Nigerian Christian Corpers Fellowship (NCCF). There was a drama presentation that showed the love of God by "Heritage" (the drama unit of NCCF). A message that centered on achieving one's best and being set apart for the use of God was shared. Thereafter, some youths from the community sang special songs. They also participated in some competitions such as racing, picking up bottles while their eyes were covered and tug of war. SHADE-IN comes to the rescue of a victim of fire outbreak

A victim of the fire outbreak In the month of January, 2015, Saving Hand Development Initiative (SHADE-IN) in collaboration with Nigerian Christian Corpers Fellowship (NCCF) rendered relief materials to the family of one of the indigenes of Aba-Ebira, Ekiti State ("Mama Happy"- a Deltan) whose house was wrecked by fire outbreak. Although, no life was lost, valuable properties were destroyed in the fire. Donations were made by NCCF through SHADE-IN which helped in the reconstruction of the building.

SHADE-IN organises skills acquisition programmes for the people of Aba-Ebira Community

Saving Hand Development Initiative (SHADE-IN) has been engaging her pilot community (Aba Ebira) on skills acquisition programmes as part of her activities through her volunteers. The following are excerpts of some of these skills acquisition programmes: Chin-Chin On Saturday 6th October 2018, thmaking unity volunteers of Saving Hand Development Initiative (SHADE-IN), taught the people of Aba-Ebira community how to make chin-chin.  The training was spearheaded by the immediate past secretary of SHADE-IN community volunteers, Olamide Afolayan, who anchored the baking session. She started by listing all the ingredients to be used in making the chin-chin. She then explained the entire process of making the snack, stating the quantity of each ingredient needed in the process. SHADE-IN sensitises the people of Aba-Ebira community on the need to stay healthy

The 16th of December, 2017, was another day to remember for residents of Oke Agbe II, Ofiyin Village, Off New Iyin road, Iyin-Ekiti, Ekiti State, also known as Aba-Ebira, as Saving Hand Development Initiative (SHADE-IN) achieved one of her objectives which is neighbourhood transformation through health by organizing a health/medical exercise in the community.  SHADE-IN realises that health is a core component of community development. The aim of the programme was to sensitise the members of Aba-Ebira community on health and safety and, to enlighten them on the symptoms and effects of high blood pressure and the need for regular medical checkups. The whole exercise lasted for two and a half hours. SHADE-IN celebrates the birthdays of children in Aba-Ebira community

It has been a norm for Saving Hand Development Initiative (SHADE-IN) to celebrate community children’s birthday as one of her neighbourhood transformation strategies, enhancing their social culture. In November 2014, SHADE-IN celebrated the birthdays of two of the indigenes of Aba-Ebira community, namely Waheed and Ayo. Another celebration took place on the 28th of February, 2015 where the birthdays of two indigenes of Aba-Ebira community namely Idowu and Rasheed were celebrated. The occasion witnessed a positive response from the community as almost the entire community came out to celebrate their children. Prayers were made for the celebrants by their parents. The 29th of November, 2017 was a very memorable day for Baby Bright Stephen and his family as a total number of 21 persons were present to grace his first birthday celebration, amongst who are members of the community, neighbours and Saving Hand Development Initiative (SHADE-IN) community volunteers. SHADE-IN h as helped me to express and exercise my passion for impacting lives, to brighten younger ones world by energizing their creative mind. I have been able to relate and work as a team at every point in time. Thanks to SHADE-IN. To Nigerians, there are many times when you want to give up, and spending time doing other things may have seemed more attractive than training, but your hard work and diligence will pay off.  Keep up the good work.
