SHADE-IN goes on an outing with the youths of Aba-Ebira Community

Saving Hand Development Initiative (SHADE-IN) oganised a picnic for the youths of Aba-Ebira, her pilot community in Ekiti State, on Friday, 14th April, 2017. This event was held at a garden in front of The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Co-operative, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State. Nine youths from Aba-Ebira Community were present, SHADE-IN volunteers and NCCF representatives.

The programme was carried out in collaboration with Nigerian Christian Corpers Fellowship (NCCF). There was a drama presentation that showed the love of God by "Heritage" (the drama unit of NCCF). A message that centered on achieving one's best and being set apart for the use of God was shared.

Thereafter, some youths from the community sang special songs. They also participated in some competitions such as racing, picking up bottles while their eyes were covered and tug of war. The youths were taught the hymn “There is not a Friend like the lowly Jesus.”

The benediction was said at the end of the program and everyone departed in excitement.  SHADE-IN community volunteers got a grant of N10,000.00 from NCCF, Ekiti State chapter. The money from the grant, was used to buy rice, note books, biros which was shared to members of the community.

The outing is in line with SHADE-IN's Mindset Change Campaign (MC Campaign) project, geared at challenging the minds of the youths for productivity and leadership. One of the ways she achieves this objective is through social events such as the aforementioned.

Introduction Conscience guides us in differentiating right from wrong, yet its application in pu...
